Bulk Sweetener Supply You Can Plan Around

A formulation that works is worth nothing if the ingredient does not arrive. Procurement teams do not lose sleep over sweetness curves. They lose sleep over a single-origin supplier with a port delay, a certificate that shows up three days after the truck, and a lead time that quietly stretches from four weeks to nine.

Icon Foods has supplied clean-label sweeteners and fibers in bulk since 1999. The way we buy, qualify, and document those ingredients is built around one idea: your line should not stop because of something happening on the other side of the world.

Multi-Sourced by Design

Most ingredients in our portfolio are qualified from more than one origin. Across the catalog we source from fifteen countries, including the United States, China, Indonesia, India, Belgium, Germany, France, Mexico, Malaysia, Turkey, South Korea, Canada, Chile, and the Netherlands.

That spread is deliberate. It reduces exposure to geopolitical disruption, climate events, port congestion, and single-facility outages. When one origin becomes constrained, another is already qualified, already audited, and already in the system.

Some ingredients are dual-sourced outright. Our allulose runs from both United States and China origins depending on grade and volume. Where trade policy has moved pricing, as it has with erythritol, multi-origin pools are what keep a program supplied rather than stalled.

What We Supply in Bulk

Every ingredient below is available in bulk, and most in both conventional and organic grades across multiple particle sizes.

Bulk sweeteners

Bulk allulose as crystalline, fine, ultra-fine, and syrup. Bulk tagatose at 98% minimum purity. Bulk erythritol in four mesh grades from 20-60 crystalline to 180-220 supreme. Bulk xylitol and maltitol in powder and syrup. Isomalt, polydextrose, and IMO syrup for bulk polyol systems.

High-intensity sweeteners

Bulk stevia extracts including Reb A at 95 through 99% purity, Reb D, Reb M, and glucosylated grades. Bulk monk fruit at 25%, 40%, and 50% mogroside V, plus juice concentrate. Thaumatin at 93% minimum protein for sweetness modulation.

Fibers and functional ingredients

Soluble tapioca fiber in powder and syrup, chicory root inulin, agave inulin, Jerusalem artichoke inulin, fructooligosaccharides, gum acacia, and partially hydrolyzed guar gum. Bulk glycerin at USP grade for humectancy and body.

Sweetener systems and inclusions

Pre-built blends including ErySweet+™, MonkSweet+™, LoSweet™, IconiSweet™, KetoseSweet+™, BakeSweet+™, and the Thaumatiq™ and FibRefine™ system families. Sugar-free chocolate chips, coatings, sprinkles, and flavored inclusions. If none of the standard systems fits, we build custom blends in-house.

Every Supplier Is Qualified and Audited

New origins do not enter the portfolio because the price is right. Each supply partner and co-manufacturing partner is qualified against our regulatory and quality standards before a single kilogram moves, and audited on an ongoing basis after that.

What that means practically: the specification you approve on a first sample is the specification that ships at volume, regardless of which qualified origin fills the order.

Certifications Across the Portfolio

Certification requirements are rarely optional. They are usually the reason a formulation gets approved or sent back.

CertificationCoverage
KosherAvailable across the large majority of the portfolio, certified through ORK, Orthodox Union, cRc, and EarthKosher depending on the item
USDA OrganicCertified through Oregon Tilth (OTCO), with organic versions of most core sweeteners and fibers
Non-GMO Project VerifiedAvailable on a broad set of items
VeganAvailable across much of the portfolio
Gluten-FreeAvailable on select items

Certification varies by individual item and grade. We confirm exactly what applies to the products in your formulation, in writing, before you commit.

Documentation That Arrives With the Order

Regulatory and QA teams should not have to chase paperwork. Every shipment travels with:

  • Certificate of analysis
  • Safety data sheet
  • Technical data sheet
  • Country of origin statement
  • Allergen statement
  • Applicable certification documents

Where an ingredient carries a labeling nuance, our documentation states it plainly rather than leaving your regulatory team to work it out. Tagatose is derived from lactose but fully converted, so the finished ingredient is suitable for vegan formulations. We say so in the paperwork.

No Minimum Order Quantity

We do not impose a minimum. A startup validating a concept and a national brand running a production line get the same sourcing rigor, the same documentation, and the same support. Small volumes are not deprioritized, and scaling up does not mean renegotiating the relationship.

Samples in 24 to 48 Hours

Most sample requests ship within 24 hours with full documentation. Bench work should not wait on a sourcing cycle.

Logistics and Inventory

We ship from our Portland, Oregon facility, which operates under Oregon Department of Agriculture Food Safety Division establishment #88294 and is a registered FDA food manufacturing facility. We manage warehousing, LTL freight, customs, and inventory planning as part of the relationship rather than as an afterthought. Our logistics team tracks shipments through delivery, and if something changes you hear it from us before you notice it yourself.

For customers running continuous production, we will talk through inventory strategy and forward positioning so reorder timing is planned rather than reactive.

What This Looks Like in Practice

You qualify an ingredient once. The specification holds. The documentation arrives with the truck. If one origin is disrupted, another is already qualified and the conversation is about timing rather than reformulation.

That is the whole point of building supply this way.
